Q: What is the difference between raised and flattened expanded metal?
Raised expanded metal retains the 3D diamond profile created by the expansion press. Flattened expanded metal is cold-rolled after expansion, producing a flat, uniform surface with reduced overall thickness. Raised is preferred for slip resistance; flattened for flat architectural and filtration applications.
Q: What SWD and LWD sizes can you manufacture?
We produce SWD from 2.5 mm to 50 mm and LWD from 4.5 mm to 100 mm. Custom diamond patterns outside these ranges can be evaluated against your drawing.
Q: Can you produce custom diamond patterns?
Yes. Custom SWD, LWD, strand width and sheet dimensions are available. Send a drawing or target specification and we will confirm tooling and lead time.
Q: What is the typical lead time for a custom order?
Standard specifications ship in 7–15 days. Custom patterns and surface finishes typically require 15–25 days depending on quantity.
Q: Do you provide samples before bulk production?
Yes. Free samples of standard specifications are available; custom samples are quoted separately and the sample cost is refundable against the bulk order.
Q: What surface finishes are available for aluminum expanded metal?
Mill finish, anodizing, powder coating, PVDF coating and polishing. Anodizing and PVDF are recommended for exterior architectural use.
