Bearing bar sizes from 20×3 mm to 100×10 mm are available. Bearing bar pitch can be 20/30/40/60 mm, cross bar pitch 50/100 mm, or customised to your load and span requirements. All panels are hot-dip galvanized after fabrication, including cut-to-size orders, so every cut edge is coated.
Galvanized Grating Types & Construction
Welded Galvanized Grating
Bearing bars and cross bars are resistance-welded at every intersection, then hot-dip galvanized after fabrication. The most common and economical type for industrial platforms, walkways and drainage covers.
Press-Locked Galvanized Grating
Bearing bars and cross bars are locked by high pressure without welding. Provides a smoother surface and higher rigidity, suitable for architectural and visible applications where a clean finish is required.
Serrated Galvanized Grating
Bearing bars with a serrated top surface for enhanced slip resistance. Recommended for walkways, stair treads, ramps and any wet or oily environment where safety is critical.
Plain Galvanized Grating
Smooth bearing bar surface. Suitable for platforms, trench covers and applications where a flush walking surface is preferred and slip risk is low.
Applications
Walkway & Platform
Walkways, operating platforms, catwalk flooring, inspection platforms.
Stair Treads & Ladders
Stair treads, ladder rungs, safety steps.
Trench & Drainage Cover
Trench covers, drainage grates, sump covers.
Security & Fencing
Security screens, fencing infill panels, machine guards, ventilation grilles.
Quality & Supply
ASTM A123 Galvanizing Compliance — All gratings are hot-dip galvanized after fabrication to ASTM A123, with a zinc coating of at least 2 oz/ft² (≈610 g/m², ≈85 µm). Test certificates available on request.
Material Traceability — Every steel bar, cross rod and finished panel is batch-recorded from incoming inspection to packing.
In-House Quality Control — Bearing bar height, thickness, spacing, panel squareness and zinc coating thickness are measured on every production batch.
Packing & Loading — Steel-strapped bundles or wooden pallets, seaworthy packing for container loading. Panels are labelled by mark for easy site identification.

FAQ
Galvanized Grating — FAQ
What does "hot-dip galvanized after fabrication" mean?
It means the grating is fully assembled and cut to size before being dipped into molten zinc. Every surface — including cut edges and welds — receives a continuous zinc coating, providing maximum corrosion protection.
What is the zinc coating thickness on your galvanized grating?
We galvanize to ASTM A123 / ISO 1461, with an average zinc coating of at least 85 µm (≈610 g/m²). This meets the common specification of 2 oz/ft² of galvanized surface.
Can galvanized grating be cut on site?
Yes, but any site cut exposes bare steel and removes the galvanizing at the cut edge. Cut ends must be banded and the exposed steel coated with a zinc-rich repair compound to restore corrosion protection. Factory cut-to-size orders are galvanized after cutting, so no touch-up is needed.
What is the difference between plain and serrated galvanized grating?
Plain grating has a smooth bearing bar surface, suitable for platforms and trench covers where slip risk is low. Serrated grating has a toothed top surface for anti-slip protection, recommended for walkways, stair treads and wet or oily environments.
What maintenance does galvanized grating require?
Very little. Regular inspection to confirm the zinc layer is intact and free of damage is usually sufficient. The protective coating can last for many years with proper care.
Need a Custom Galvanized Grating Specification?
